Here’s to wishing all of our family and friends a healthy, happy and exciting New Year!
~May the best of the past be the worst of the future~
Love, BJAMS ♥
Annika and Selena had a magical Christmas again this year! They got a whole bunch of special presents from Santa and family.
We arrived home lunchtime today after a whirlwind five-day Christmas adventure. Boxing day was spent, as always, here at BJAMS’ with my brother and Jenn, and my parents. Christmas day was here as well with my parents. Mom cooked the meal and I was her right-hand man, and Annika proudly showed papa all her new toys the entire day. Boxing day morning we headed for the Cottage in Windsor where we spent three days with Grampy and Auntie Char. Annika and Selena met some new playmates on Wednesday and even got to see the Windsor Fire Department during our visit too!
Time to settle down now, bring in the New Year here at BJAMS and await the exciting adventures of 2012!
Annika wanted to wrap daddy up and put him under the tree….
We had lots of fun at Tessa and Ari’s glow-in-the-dark birthday party at Bingeman’s!
We went to the not-too-impressive Guelph downtown tree lighting…no, my camera was not crooked, this is the the Leaning-Tower-of-Christmas-Tree
daddy had fun running Annika to school a couple times this winter!
look what mommy’s beverage of choice will be this Christmas holiday!!
I have been waiting patiently for Skinnygirl to get to Canada!! This extremely successful brand was created from nothing by one of my favourite “housewives”, Bethenney Frankel. The brand is now worth over $100 million. James hates that I watch the housewives reality stuff, but look at what some of these women accomplish! Bethenney is one of very few women to break the male-dominant liquor industry! She even went on to have her own successful reality show after housewives, “Bethenney Ever After”, which I’m also patiently waiting to air in Canada…. Margarita Christmas, here we come!!!!
Merry Christmas-Eve Everyone! ♥
My mom bought Annika and I an early Christmas present this year, tickets to the Nutcracker Ballet! It was Annika’s first ever big show. She was so excited! She has been watching the Nutcracker ballet cartoon for weeks now, and has fallen in love with the Nutcracker and Clara.
This performance was performed on the same big stage that Annika will dance on next May (River Run Centre).
With a week to go before the big day, I thought it was perfect timing to post a video I came across on a news feed on my homepage a few days ago. This 16-year-old boy from Winnipeg stars in and produced this music video himself. He is the vocalist, drummer and all the background instruments (he mixed them into the recording).
This is one of my all-time favourite Christmas songs; it has always reminded me of my brother…..about a boy with a good heart and lots of talent.
I love this quote from Sean Quigley:
"It's about a little kid who just doesn't have anything to bring, but he's got his talent and he can play his drum. I think that's a message that just doesn't get across enough to people. Especially at Christmas time, we ought to focus on Jesus, not on presents and Santa Claus."
Annika just finished up school for the Christmas break with two wonderful Christmas performances with her class. She had a sing-a-long in her classroom on Thursday, and performed on the big church stage this morning! She did really well and we’re so proud of her!
Annika and Charlotte
Everyone gone, but our kids still thoroughly enjoying their snack!
Uh oh…do I sense a little jealousy…Charlotte’s hugging Cameron!
But Cameron gave Annika her turn haha! So cute!

here they come! They all hand painted their shirts!
Proudly sporting Papa’s hat
Annika had her first ever Christmas dance recital at her dance studio. Daddy, mommy, Selena, Nana, Papa, Uncle David and Aunt Jenn came to watch! Annika was a little nervous at the start, but by the end was showing us all her dance moves, and the “secret” dance was finally revealed!
Uncle David, and Daddy and Selena joining in on the fun!
Selena was determined to join her sister on the dance floor…
Dancing with papa!
We eventually gave up and let Selena join in…
Papa brought Annika a special flower

Lots to catch up on recently….I feel like there is so much happening that I don’t have time to think sometimes!
One of the many fundraisers the Salvation Army Nursery School does annually is the Pancake Breakfast with Santa and silent auction. Both the girls ate more pancakes than anyone would imagine, and then got to sit on Santa’s lap! The silent auction had loads of kid-friendly things to bid on, and we won a craft set full of fun stuff.
Patiently waiting in line with nana and papa to see Santa
Like father, like daughter….both thoroughly enjoying their pancake breakfast!
Our little snowlady
there’s always time for dress-up in this household..
I think Annika might enjoy dress-up a little more than her little sister..
Yesterday, we travelled to London to see the long-awaited grand opening of Rob and Hilary’s brand new, beautiful home!

It was time for some snowy fun in the backyard today…
The upcoming week-and-a-half has a record-breaking amount of events… Some of the agenda includes: Annika’s school Christmas concerts x2, Annika’s ballet Christmas recital, PJ party at school, home-spa evening with Jenn and the wedding party, The Nutcracker Ballet at the River Run Centre with my mom and Annika (a Christmas present from my mom!)…and the list goes on. Gotta love the Christmas spirit!!
