Mom’s Birthday Bash!
We rang in mom’s birthday in style with Swiss Chalet and gourmet cupcakes! So nice to have everyone together for the fourth winter birthday. The girls surprised nana with some goodies and had some cuddles with papa too.
My dad was feeling well enough to be up and about, which was so nice to see since he’s developed a bad case of peripheral neuropathy - a common side effect of the chemo he’s on. Thankfully, the doctor has recommended he come off the regimen and begin maintenance, which is a drug-free period until the there are signs that the cancer is back (which is typically within two years), at which point my dad will start a maintenance regimen of a different, lower toxic chemo drug which he can take from home. Soooo, with the warmer weather just around the corner, it’s nice timing to hopefully have my dad back up and able to fully enjoy life without pain (or least minimal pain)!
Jenn is next and the conclusion of the birthday celebrations, on the Ides of March!
Tomorrow, the girls will shine on stage for the first time performing their competitive routines. It’s been one of the busiest weeks at dance, with prop preparing and painting, and the costumes all came in at the last minute. Some of the staff at the studio have gone without sleep for a few days straight…. All worth it in the end when we see all of the hard work pay off. Many pictures to come of our little dancers!
