Summertime in TO

We broke away for two days to sightsee Toronto.  We scored a fantastic deal at the Westin Harbour Castle.  We toured the waterfront (which I didn’t realize existed that far into Toronto!).  It was so pretty.  We went to Sugar Beach, played at a splash pad, ate at a harbour-front patio, swam at the hotel pool for 6+ hours over a 48-hour period, went to the aquarium (kind of neat for the kids and if you’re really into the undersea world, but not worth the craziness and busyness combined with the price of the tickets…).  We shopped at Eaton Center, walked the crazy streets of TO (it only takes James and I being in TO for half a day to realize how much we truly appreciate our home and community in Guelph… big city is NOT us in any way!), we met up with uncles Nissim and Dale – all of the good outweighed the couple of pretty epic meltdowns of our lovely 3.5-year-old, Selena; me scratching a cabby’s car and needing security at our hotel, and missing Paint Nite with Rob, and dodging the aggressive people of TO – All in all, a good family trip with big lessons in our appreciation of our lovely, humble, beautiful, clean, non-smelly, non-chaotic, non-pushy, calm, serene life in Guelph.
