Picture Perfect Long Weekend!
The girls ventured to a different province for the very first time ever this weekend. They got their first taste of French-speaking Canada. Our adventure started Friday morning when we made our way to Ottawa. On arrival we made a quick stop at the Provincial Triathlon race venue, then made our way to the Parliament buildings.
-For my dad – his favourite beer!
Walking the streets of Ottawa

The following morning James had a very early wakeup call to watch the triathlon races, so the girls and I slept in and made a second trip to the Parliament buildings to watch the Changing of the Guards.
The hotel had a “kids room” which Annika and Selena loved!
Showing off the Barbies for Nana and auntie Steph!
James took the girls for an hour while I got a pedicure and manicure! :D
we HAD to stop at the bouncy castle before heading to our next destination….
Montreal! The girls both had a nice, long, much needed 2 hour nap on the way. We checked into our hotel and headed straight to dinner to meet Grampie, Auntie Char, Great Aunt Esther and Uncle Gary. After dinner in Old Montreal, we walked the streets and watched the not-so-great World Championship fireworks.
Meeting Great Aunt Esther for the first time (John’s younger sister)
Sunday morning we went to the Montreal Biodome and Olympic Tower.
Penguin swimming in water
I just love penguins…I could watch them waddle around all day

As long as she has her fingers and her little green blankie, she’s a happy girl!
30 minutes east of Montreal was the beautiful wedding venue for James’ cousin Toby and his new wife Carolyn.
Selena’s dress was a dress I wore as a baby
The groom, Toby, and his dad, Fraser, waiting for the bride
Uncle David and Aunt Cheryl (John’s younger brother)
Keeping baby sissy entertained
After what seemed like an endless drive back….we are home safe and sound! And that completes and fulfills my driving trips/vacations for the next long while…I couldn’t be more proud of my girls for being so good the whole weekend, even in the car! They make traveling as easy as it can be with kids. Now time to catch up on some sleep, unpack, and enjoy the rest of the summer here at BJAMS’!
